shadi ghadirian was born in Tehran in Iran and lives and works there to. when she got married she felt like her whole identity would change. she used everyday items such as irons, gloves and other items to show the roles of women. the cloth represents purity. she has pride and purity in who she is. she uses a manikin , tat she covers in cloth and puts a everyday item in front of the cloth so it looks like its covering her face.
her position in her photos are always in the middle, so that the person viewing the photos looks straight at the everyday object. in the rule of thirds her object is normally in the center square , and she always uses a white background , which makes the object and cloth stand out.
